  Charles Raymond Early, 72, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Hancock Transitional Hospital in Greenfield.

  He was born May 11, 1947 in Shelby County to Addis and Sara (Polston) Early.  He married Wilma Early in 1977 in Livingston, Tennessee, and she preceded him in death on May 31, 2016.

  Charlie is survived by his daughter, Tammi Berry (Tony) of Shelbyville; sister, Brenda Whiteford (Greg) of Shelbyville; brother, Larry Early of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Brady Winkler, Chris Beasley and Erica Martin; 3 great-grandchildren;; and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

  He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma; parents; and step-father, Charles Stader. 

  Charlie was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was a truck driver for 25 years at Sharon Brown in Greensburg and 6 years at PKG of Shelbyville.

  He spent 47 years driving a truck and enjoyed being on the road.  He liked watching Gunsmoke and Fox News.  His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family.

  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to Noon, Saturday July 27, 2019, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 South Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

  Funeral services will follow at Noon at the funeral home, with the Reverend Gerald Hancock officiating.

 Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens and Crematory with military rites conducted by local veteran's organizations.

 Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for the Early family.
