Charles ‘Michael’ Phillips, 60, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

  He was born June 15, 1958, in Shelbyville, to Charles R. Phillips and Barbara (Ramsey) Macklin.

  He married Shirley Sinclair on December 12, 2012, and she survives.

  Michael is survived by his sons, Jason Phillips of Rushville; Thomas (Alana) Phillips of St. Paul; Josh (Melissa) Lockridge; and Wayne (Linda) Sinclair; daughter, Kristy (Aaron) Sinclair, all of Shelbyville; sisters, Lori Golden of Shelbyville; Linda (Robert) Smith of Rushville; and Michelle Sams of Indianapolis; brothers, Larry Phillips; Chris (Carrie) Macklin; and Ronnie Lee McDuffy, all of Shelbyville; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  

   He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Bobby Macklin; Grandma Jannie Macklin; and sisters, Kathy Phillips and Lisa Phillips.

  He graduated from Rushville High School.  Michael was employed at Mathies Landscaping for 18 years. His most precious times were spent with his family.

      Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, April 22, 2019 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.

  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the funeral home with Reverend Zack Korff officiating. 

  Burial will be in Manilla Cemetery.

  Funeral Directors, Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve the Phillips family.

I grew up with “Hippie” (that’s what we always called him). Our fathers worked together on Wissing farm. So sorry to hear of Mike’s passing, rest in peace my friend.
