  Jaylan T. Smith, 23, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at MHP Medical Center.

  He was born January 10, 1995 in Indianapolis to Jeremy Nowling and Chasity (Smith) McCormick.

  Jaylan is survived by father Jeremy, mother, Chasity (fiancé, John Kincaid); brothers, James Robinson and Dominic Nowling; sister, Miley Nowling, step-father, Richard Robinson, special friends, Tom and Peggy Dickey, Katie Dickey, Jordan Dickey, Zachary Dickey, Tyler Dickey, Alan Oman, and his family of caregivers at Ekids. cousin, Casey Bandy and great-cousin, Violet Bandy.

  Jaylan loved watching movies, playing on his computer, especially Pokémon.  He enjoyed his time at Champ Camp and playing power soccer for the Henry County Hotshots.

  Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

  Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Reverends Jeff Johnson and David Humphries officiating,

  Burial will be in the Grace Children’s Garden at Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens.

  Funeral Directors, Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Jaylan.

  Memorial contributions may be given to Champ Camp or Especially Kidz for the Grace Monument Project, in care of the funeral home.

There are some residents you never forget. I was honored to be one ofJaylan's RTs for the past 3 years. I enjoyed his witty banter and we loved making up silly songs. I will never forget him and will deeply miss taking care of him and hearing him say.... "one more time" :)

Jaylan was such a great guy. May he rest peacefully now. God has a plan for him in heaven. Yet, it doesn’t take the heartbreak of losing him away. My condolences to us all who had the honor of knowing him.
