It is with great sadness that the family of Timothy Lawrence Hampton announces his passing after a long illness, on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at the age of 60. Tim will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 38 years, Karen, and his sons, Luke Hampton (Bridget Ralston Hampton), Andrew Hampton (Jennifer Burdette Hampton), and Joshua Hampton (Melissa Corley) and his mother, Ernestine Ann Hampton, his sisters, Judy Jeter (Roger Jeter), and Georgina Schmits (Tom Schmits) and many nieces and nephews. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Hampton.
A service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, October 27, 2:00 pm, at the Evangelical Methodist Church, 276 East Washington Street, Shelbyville, IN.
Tim was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 13, 1958. He attended Asbury University, Asbury Seminary and Reformed Theological Seminary. He served in the pastoral ministry for 35 years, with his last pastorate being at the Evangelical Methodist Church in Shelbyville. Tim was an avid sports enthusiast, especially loving football and basketball. His favorite pastime was reading and perusing the shelves of used book stores.
