David Douglas Hanna, 77, of Shelbyville, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at his residence. He was born September 7th, 1941 in Palmdale California to Elijah and Ara (Stevens) Hanna. He married Jacquelyn Henderson on March 28, 1959 and she survives.
David is survived by his three sons, David Hanna, Darl Hanna, and Dean Hanna, one daughter, Jennifer Heath, 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
David served as a aircraft mechanic during his time in the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of Hopes Point Church. David was an engineer, retiring from Mountain Bell after 25 years of service. Following his retirement he continued to do consulting for the company. David enjoyed the outdoors and spending time fishing. David was a true servant of God always willing to give a helping hand to anyone that needed one especially his surrounding neighbors.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday September 25, 2018 at Hopes Point Church 1703 Miller Ave. Shelbyville, IN 46176.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5p.m. Tuesday at the church with Pastor Edwin Mohr officiating. Military honors will be conducted by local veteran organizations.
