  Jewell I. Southwood, 78, of Fairland, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at her residence.

  She was born July 31, 1940 in Fairland to Bryan and Elizabeth Hennis.  She married Harry D. Wiggins, Jr. and he preceded her in death in December 1981.  She then married Eskel Southwood, Jr. and he survives.

    She is also survived by her daughter, Teri Henderson, son, Bryan D. (wife, Kim) Wiggins, daughter, Robin R. Wiggins; step-children, Patty Lyons and John C. Southwood; grandchildren, Jeremy Jones, Scott Jones, Eric Jones, Amy Jones, Sara Harris, Brandon Wiggins, Justin Wiggins, Lauren Wiggins, and Jenna Webb; several great-grandchildren, and her beloved dogs, Peek-a-boo, and Teenie.

   She was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard and Gerald Hennis, sister, Jo Ellen Gwinnup, her first husband, and her parents.

  Her greatest joy was being a homemaker, caregiver, and being surrounded by her family. and friends.  She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, and collecting antiques.

  Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

  Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Brandon Sutton officiating.

  Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

  Funeral Directors, Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve the family.

  Memorial contributions may be given to the Shelbyville Animal Shelter, 705 Hale Road, Shelbyville, IN 46176 or the Indiana Heart Association, 6500 Technology Center Drive, Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46278.
