 Lester ‘Raye’ Aldridge, 73, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 at Saint Francis Franciscan Health.

  He was born April 30, 1945 in Shelbyville, to LeRoy and Thelma Faye (Engle) Aldridge.

He is survived by his sons, Eric (Liza) Aldridge of Brownsburg, and Terry (Katharine) Aldridge of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Hannah, Zachary, Abigail, Jacob Aldridge, great-grandchild Lola; several cousins and sister, Ida Maye Cox.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sister, Ester ‘Kaye’ Goodwin, sister, Dorothy Allen and brothers, Laurel and Henry Aldridge.

 Raye was a chemist at RCA as well as a carpenter. He loved to hike, canoe, and being outdoors.  He also enjoyed scuba diving and riding his Harley.

  Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

 A Celebration of Life will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Brandon Sutton officiating.

 Private burial services will be at a later date in Lewis Creek Cemetery.

  Funeral Directors, Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve the Aldridge family.

Raye was one of my favorite people! He will be greatly missed. I've lived next door to him for the past 8 years and we had so many long talks about books, politics, life in general. He was a great man and he was so good to me. Condolences to his family.
