  Robert Talkington, 83, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Franciscan Health.

  He was born February 15, 1935 in Shelby County, IN to Claudis and Francis (Raper) Talkington.

  Robert is survived by his daughters, Sharyl Weingarth of Rush County, Cynthia Jeffries of Shelby County, and Pamela McIver of Shelbyville, son, Robert W. (Tami) Talkington of Shelbyville, grandchildren, Brady Hornback, Chad Jeffries, Josh Tucker, Christopher Schofner, Bryan Phillips, and Kristen Jeffries, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, brother, Forrest W. Talkington of Ferdinand, IN, and several nieces and nephews.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carolyn Corley and best friend, Norman Levell.

  Robert loved to fish and enjoyed making people laugh.  His greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren that he loved very much.

  He was a 3rd degree Blackbelt in Jiu Jitsu.

  Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.  No funeral service will be observed.

  Funeral Directors, Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve the Talkington family.

  Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert D. Talkington funeral fund in care of the funeral home.
