 Tyler M. R. Carter, 17, of New Palestine, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at his residence.

  He was born February 9, 2001 to David M. Carter and Rhea (Adams) Hammond.

  Tyler is survived by his mother and step-father, Gary Hammond, his father, David, brothers, Tanner Carter and Austin Carter, maternal grandparents, Ron and Patty Stackhouse; paternal grandparents, Michael and Becky Carter; maternal grandfather, Dannie Adams, maternal grandmother, Wilma Hammond, step-brother, Christopher Hammond, and maternal great-grandmother, Elizabeth Adams.

  He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Robert and Mary Ruth McGill.

  Tyler was a junior at New Palestine High School and was a member of the swim team.  He enjoyed playing video games.

  Tyler was known for his warm and loving heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand.  He loved spending time with his family that he loved very much.

  Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Park Chapel Christian Church, 1176 E. McKenzie Road, Greenfield, IN.  Services will follow at 5 p.m. at the church with Ross Stackhouse officiating.

    Memorial contributions may be given to The Wounded Warrior Project, P O Box 758517, Topeka KS 66675-8517.

  Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Tyler’s family.

My heart breaks for his family and friends!! My son is a NPHS junior too and I CANNOT begin to imagine what the family is going through. I will be thinking of you in this very terrible time. I will be praying for your peace of mind and your healing. Please know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many folks!!!!
