Marlene M. Taylor, 79, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Waldron Health and Rehab.
She was born April 24, 1938 to Peter Raymond and Lula (Mussman) Sleeth. She married Lloyd “Sonny” Taylor on June 16, 1956 and he survives.
Marlene is also survived by her son, David Ray Taylor of Shelbyville; granddaughter, Angie (Tony) Parker; 1 great granddaughter; 2 great grandsons; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Raymond and George Sleeth; sisters, Jennie Short, Imogene Swords, Grace Elsbury, Gailya Bowling, Anna Spiker, Lula Belle Brown, and Carol Miller; and grandson, Logan Ray Taylor.
Marlene worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at Heritage House.
She enjoyed crocheting afghans, embroidery and cooking.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2018 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville
A Memorial Service will follow at 7 p.m. with Robert Prather officiating.
Inurnment will be at Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve the Taylor family.
