  Billy Lee Knopp, 86, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday February 26, 2018.

  He was born August 12, 1931 to Luther and Mary (Andis) Knopp.  He married Doris (Frazier) Knopp on January 29, 1960 and she preceded him in death on March 6, 1982.

  He is survived by his sons, Michael “Nick” (wife, Robin) Nicholson, Washington, Billy David (wife, Chris) Knopp, Belgium, Randy Knopp, Greenwood; daughters, LeeAnn Renbarger, and Jill (husband, Jeff) DeWitt, all of Shelbyville, Sherri Wood, and Pam Brown; grandchildren, Amy, Michael N., Brian, Michael, Florian, Kimberly, Danielle, Jill, Kayla, Corey, Erika, and Allison; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Bobbie Knopp and Volney “Smokey” Knopp; and sisters, Patsy Martin, and Carol Sue Jackson.

  Mr, Knopp was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, James “Jimmy” Knopp, sister, Peggy Lahey and half siblings, Ray, Evelyn, and Donald.

  He retired from Wellman’s as a machinist.  He was a proud U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War.

  Mr. Knopp loved fishing, gardening and flowers.  In his early years he was an avid outdoorsman.

  Visitation will be Friday, March 2, 2018 from 10 am to Noon at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville 

  Funeral services, with full military rites, will follow at Noon at the funeral, with Reverend James Thurman officiating.

  Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Rushville.

  Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve the Knopp family.
