  Catherine Jean (McDowell) Paxton, 90, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Franciscan Health Indianapolis.

  She was born November 17, 1927 in Hillsdale, MI.  She married Robert P. Paxton on June 18, 1949 and he preceded her in death November 2000.

  Catherine is survived by her daughters, Christine (Gary) Leffler; Barbara (Tony) Sosbe; Wendy (Kevin) Wise, all of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Gary (Jennifer) Leffler,  Amanda Leffler, all of Shelbyville;  Grady (Jessica), Leffler of NC.; Jessica (Dirk) Tysen, of Fishers, Robert (Partner, Dawn) Stevens, Morgantown, Alexis Wise, of Shelbyville; great-grandchildren, Reggie Karnes, Gracie and Paige Leffler, Gage, Jaycee, Bella, and  Sadie Leffler, Lyla and Neil Tysen.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, brother, Cleo McDowell and grandson.

  Mrs. Paxton was a long time Shelbyville resident; she was a homemaker and worked at Kennedy Car Liner.  She was an avid bowler, IU and Pacer fan, and loved spending time with family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN.

  Funeral services will be follow at 2 p.m. with Reverend Tom Sosbe officiating.

  Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

  Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mrs. Paxton.
