Ida Louise (Bailey) Hogan was born on May 5, 1921 in Shelbyville, IN. to James Frederick Bailey and Leona Pearl (Jones) Bailey.  She grew up in Shelbyville where she met Alfred Earnest (Al) Hogan.  They were united in marriage in Decatur County, In on February 8, 1941.  To this union were born Stephen E. Hogan, Alfred A. (Tony) Hogan and Daniel L. Hogan.  Alfred, a US Army Veteran in WWII, passed away at their home on Taylor Street in Shelbyville after a courageous battle with cancer, on February 26, 1951.

Louise, a young widow, raised her three sons, moved to Indianapolis in 1955 to the home on Englewood Drive where she lived for 61 years until November 2015.  Louise’s dedication to her three sons was her life goal and passion.  She went to work at P.R. Mallory’s, RCA and later at Western Electric on Shadeland Ave., Indianapolis, which became AT&T.  She retired in 1982 at the age of 62 after 25 years of service.

Louise enjoyed crocheting, knitting, beautiful flowers, reading and playing cards.  The most important part of her life was time with her children and especially her grandchildren.  She was devoted to her family and was a true loving role model of unconditional love for those whose life she touched.

Louise passed peacefully on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Crestwood Village Assisted Living, Indianapolis.  She said that she had lived a good life, and that she loved her sons and their children.

She is survived by her three sons; Stephan Earnest Hogan, Indianapolis, Alfred Anthony Hogan (Pat), Fort Worth, TX and Daniel Lee Hogan, Indianapolis.  Her four grandchildren; Tina Louise (Hogan) Haislet, Haslet, TX, Alfred Anthony Hogan II (Julie) Haslet, TX and Stephan Curtis Lee Hogan (Angie) Highland Village, TX, and Brandon Royce Hogan, Indianapolis.  She was Blessed with nine great-grandchildren, she fondly called “Her Great’s” and a Great Great Grandson born in 2016.  She is also survived by her twin sister Bertha Lucille (Bailey) Schuberth, Chicago, IL and a brother James Robert Bailey (Marjorie) FL.  Her special nieces, Leona Pearl (Bailey) McCullock, CA and Cynthia (Bailey) Newman, CA and nephew Thomas Frederick Schubert, IA.  Her lifelong best friend Helen Wasson, Shelbyville, IN. Also many extended relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday November 24, funeral services will follow visitation at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN. with Pastor Brandon Sutton officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville, IN.

Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mrs. Isa Louise Hogan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charities.
