|   James E Haltom, 73 of Shelbyville, IN passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017, at Major Hospital, Shelbyville, IN. Born October 30, 1943 in Shelbyville, IN, he was the son of Walter Haltom and Mary Katherine (Reidman) Mark.  James married Mary Jo "Jody" (Wyrick) Haltom on August 31, 1977 and she survives.  James is survived by five children, Jerry (Mina) Shelton, Sumter, SC, Mike (Genie) Shelton, Shelbyville, IN, Bruce Haltom, Shelbyville, IN, Beverly (Gary) May, Lexington, SC, and Bryan Haltom, Shelbyville, IN,, grandchildren, Jessica Krise-Lanter, Amber Shelton, James Haltom, Kylie Shelton, John Krise, Allison Shelton, Damion Haltom, Dorian Haltom, Brenda Shelton, Tyler May, Chloe May, and Samuel Shelton; great-grandchildren, Landon, Matthew, Parker, and Sophie; brother, Dan Huesman; sisters, Dianna Mullen, Lynda Thomas, Bonnie Steffey, Christy Coomer, Donna Knight, Tamma Trisler, Sandra Brandt, Barbara Crawford and Linda Sue Worland. Mr. Haltom was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Sandra Sue Browers and brother, Joe Haltom. Jim was an operating engineer. He was a veteran of the National Guard.  Jim enjoyed horseback riding, woodworking, gardening and riding motorcycles. His greatest pleasure was spending precious time with his wife and family. He was a member of the Eagles, American Legion, and  IUOE Local #103. He was also a Reserve Officer of the Shelby County Sheriff's Department. Visitation will be Friday, October 20, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN. Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Banister officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery Shelbyville IN.
