Carolyn  Hicks, 73, of Mays, IN passed away October 2, 2017, peacefully at home with family by her side.

Born June 2, 1944 in Milford, IN, she was the daughter of Arthur O. White and Bertha (Milligan) White.

Carolyn married Melvin Hicks on  September 3, 1960 and he preceded her in death on January 15, 1988.

She is survived by her sons, Frank (Terri) Hicks, Frankton, IN., Tim Hicks, Franklin, IN., Tom Hicks, Greensburg, IN., Brad (Carrie) Hicks, Shelbyville, IN; daughters, Becky York, Arlington, IN., Phoebe (Randy) Jacobs, Rushville, IN., Janet Hicks (fiancee, Leo Mills), Connersville, IN., Tonya (Christian) Mottau, Danville, IN., 14 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Jeannette Green, brothers, Howard White, and Ralph White and sisters, Mildred Richey, Dorothy White and Myrtle Petro.

She attended Burney School.  She worked at Caldwell Recycling and Collin Aikmans in Morristown.

Carolyn loved playing bingo, reading, gardening, cooking for her family  and shopping at yard sales. Her most precious times were spent at home with her family. She was a loving and giving lady and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Visitation will be Friday, October 6, 2017 from  9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN.

Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Dr. P.T. Wilson officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery Shelbyville IN.

Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for  Mrs. Hicks.
