Archie L. Coffey, 75 of Shelbyville, IN passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017, at Major Hospital Shelbyville IN.

 

He was born on  June 19, 1942 in Russell Springs, KY. He was the son of Wilber Lee Coffey and Orpha Wooten.

 

He was raised by his step-father Hollis Hudson. Archie was married to Darlene (Leffler) Coffey until her death, then he married Nina (McDonald) until her death, he then married Sara (Lee) Coffey and she preceded him in death.

 

He is survived by son: Kevin Coffey, Shelbyville, IN, daughters: Leianna Kent and Susan Aulby, Shelbyville, IN,  step-sons: Shaun Keller, Erik Killen and Bill Hitchcock,  step-daughters: Briana Heck and Brenda Elliott, brothers: Ronald and Timothy Hudson, Russell Springs, KY,  sisters: Carol Richards, Jamestown, KY, Sharon Warriner, Russell Springs, KY,  along with 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. 

 

 He was preceded in death by sister: Kathryn Perez.

 

Archie worked for General Electric until his retirement. He was a member and served as the president of Local 836.  After his retirement he was a dump truck driver for several years for several different companies.

 

He was a member of Lewis Creek Baptist Church.

 

Visitation will be Sunday, September 17, 2017 from  4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN. 

 

Funeral service will be held Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM  at the funeral home with  Reverend Edwin Mohr officiating. 

 

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville IN.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Shelby County, P O Box 844, Shelbyville, IN 46176

 

Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Coffey.
