Richard “Dick” Canfield, 88, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017, at his residence.

Born March 13, 1929 in Arcola, IL, he was the son of David Canfield and Roxie Canfield.

Richard married Mabel Canfield on April 19, 1953 and she survives.

Richard is also survived by his sons,: Floyd Douglas (wife, Gerri) Canfield, Richard Lee (wife, Sharon) Canfield, Barth (wife, Valarie) Canfield, grandchildren, Chris (wife, Gail) Canfield, Erika (husband, Jason) Siebentha, Dustin (wife, Megan) Canfield, Kendra (husband, Greg) Fly, Hope, Nathan, Amy, Luke and Matthew Canfield and 13 great-grandchildren.

Dick graduated from Bloomington IN High School and Minnesosta Bible College.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Canfield was employed by Western Electric for 28 years.  He served as President of WE Archery Club.  He is a member and former Elder of Indian Creek Christian Church.

Visitation will be Monday, September 4, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 10 am. to 11 a.m.at Indian Creek Church, 6430 S. Franklin Road, Indianapolis, IN.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the church with  Dr. Gary Johnson officiating.

Burial will be in Acton Cemetery. Acton IN.

Memorial donations in honor of Mr. Canfield may be made to Johnson University, 4900 Johnson Drive, Knoxville, TN 37998.

Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Canfield.
