Joseph “Joe” Gigliotti, 91, of Shelbyville, IN passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017, at his residence. Born May 16, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph John Gigliotti and the late Mary Gigliotti. Joseph married his sweetheart, Harriette Hopper on June 22, 1953. During their 58 year marriage, they enjoyed many cruises, fun, and the antics of a large, loving Italian family until she preceded him in death on March 10, 2011.

Joe was a U.S. Army veteran stationed in Italy during World War II.  He was a lifelong member of Knights of Columbus, Council #861, where he was a part of the Singing Knights and most recently recognized for 50 years of faithful and loyal service. He will be remembered as a great cook; his world class meatballs and famous family recipe sauce was frequently requested and always enjoyed at many gatherings at St Gabriel Catholic Church in Connersville, IN. His most precious moments were those he spent over meals with his beloved family and friends.

Your father was an absolute cutie-pie! I enjoyed the few times I got to interact with him and your family! We will miss Grandpa stories at work!

My heart and prayers go out to you all.
