Reverend Sarah V. Brown, 74, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at Waldron Health and Rehab Center.

Born September 5, 1942 in Athens, Alabama, she was the daughter of Thomas and Bernice (Steelman) Wood.

Sarah is survived by her daughter Belinda (husband, Oscar C) Thompson, Jr. of Prairie Creek, IN, grandchildren, Sarah “Beth” Wertz and Savannah Lux, both of Shelbyville, IN; great-granddaughter, Winnie Simpson; step-grandson, Michael Thompson; step-granddaughter, Stacy Thompson, and several step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, longtime companions, Jerry Brown and Larry Dennis, her sister, Bonnie Bell and grandson-in-law, Nick Wertz.

Sarah was co-owner of Cagney's Pizza King and 44 E. Rentals, both in Shelbyville, IN, and Pizza King Station in Franklin, IN.

Sarah was an ordained minister, clairvoyant, and healer with the Indiana Association of Spiritualists at Camp Chesterfield, located in Chesterfield, IN. She was a longtime friend of Bill W. She was a gifted musician and also enjoyed the company of her beloved pets, reading, socializing, and cooking.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Lynda Richey officiating.

Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
