Lee Anne Yentes, 81, of Shelbyville, IN, passed away June 25, 2017

She was born May 25, 1936 in Covington, KY, the daughter of the late Rodney and Hulda Burton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth and Douglas Burton.

After graduating from Erlanger Lloyd high school in Erlanger, KY, she attended Morehead State College in Morehead, KY.  There she met her future husband, Gerald Yentes.  They married August 31, 1957.  Their loving devotion to each other was an example to all who knew them.  In 1959 they settled in Milford, OH where Lee devoted herself to raising their two sons, Don and Chris.  They later moved to Greensburg, IN and Beech Grove, IN, eventually retiring to Sun City Center, Fl.  They had recently moved back "north".

Throughout her life, Lee was active in her community.  She was an elementary school secretary and bookkeeper for 26 years. She served in many volunteer positions from Sunday School teacher to deaconess in her church to Sun City Center's security patrol.  Her hobbies included doing Bunka (Japanese embroidery), reading, traveling and watching sports, especially the Tampa Bay Rays after moving to Florida.  A gracious and dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who know and loved her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Donald (Sande) of Proctorville, OH and Chris (Kim) of Fairland, IN, four grandchildren, Morgan (Bobby) Larsen and Dylan (Amanda) Yentes all of Casper, WY and Blake Yentes (Amanda Jones) of Indianapolis and Trent Yentes of Fairland, along with four great-grandchildren, Jackson and Henry Yentes and Sawyer and Brynn Larsen all of Casper, WY.

A memorial service will be held at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN on July 7.  Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m with the service following at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to Trinity Baptist Church, 702 W. Del Webb Blvd, Sun City Center, FL 33573 in memory of Lee Anne Yentes.
