Clarence Oscar Leroy Duncan, 78 of Shelbyville, Indiana passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017, at his residence..

 

Born Saturday, July 9, 1938 in Osgood, Indiana, he was the son of ClarencenRussell Duncan and Norma Grace "Pratt" Duncan. 

 

He married Carolyn Sue "Dyer" Duncan on May 6, 1966 and she survives.

 

He is also survived by his sons, Clarence Edward Duncan of Shelbyville, IN and Carroll James Duncan (wife, Connie) of Shelbyville, IN, daughters, Clarissa Mead (husband, Mark) of Spokane, WA, Alicia Kritzell (husband, Tim)of Olathe, KS and Melissa Kritzell (husband, Larry) of Finley, OH.

 

Other survivors include, his brother, Larry (wife, Ging) Duncan of Madison, IN, sisters, Jessie Sanders and Melvalena Brock both of Shelbyville, IN, sister-in-law Betty (husband, Jack) Thurman.

 

Mr. Duncan was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church.

 

He was a U.S. Army veteran.He served his term in Germany and then 10 years in the U.S. Army Reserves.

 

Mr. Duncan was a design draftsman for Regal Rug, and at the proving ground in Madison, Indiana, after that he worked as design draftsman, for the government in Oregon. He moved back to Shelbyville in 1972 and worked as a Supervisor at Continental Kitchen as well as Cord Cabinets. In 1979 he moved to Ks as an employee of Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Overland Park, KS. for 10 years as a cabinet maker and in maintenance, from where he retired.

 

A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at The Shelbyville Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 1541 West McKay Road  Shelbyville, Indiana 46176. This service will be held by Pastor Fred Troxell. The Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville, IN.

 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at The Shelbyville Seventh Day Adventist Church.

 

Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Duncan.
