Elma E. Taylor, 92, formerly of Shelby County, passed away April 17, 2017 at Franklin United Methodist Community. Born May 4, 1924 to Fred and Ruby (White) Barlow, she was a resident of this area all her life.
She was a graduate of Mt. Auburn High School and retired from United Technologies (Amos Plastics) after 30 years.
She is survived by son William D. (Bernice) Taylor of Shelby County and daughter-in-law Julana Mohr Taylor. Also surviving- grandchildren, Beverly Taylor (Juergen Thusat) of Alpena Michigan, Jeff (Susan) Taylor of Shelby County, Gara Lawson of Shelby County, Hollie (Richard) Paul of Shelbyville; great grandchildren Terry Thusat Taylor of Nashville, TN., Ryleigh Taylor and Haley Taylor of Shelbyville, Catelynn and Kollin Lawson of Shelby County and Damion Paul of Shelbyville.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sons- Gerald W. Taylor and Dale Ray Taylor. Also proceeding her in death was her ex-husband David Shelton Taylor.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and her dog, Mango.
Graveside services will be in Miller Cemetery at 2PM on Thursday, April 20, 2017 with Rev. Robert Campbell officiating .
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelbyville Animal Shelter.
