Jacob Berlin Thurman, 23 of Greenwood, IN passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at his residence.

Born September 20,1993 in Franklin, IN, he was the son of Lester and Kristy Thurman and Angela (Kunkel) and Jeffrey Glessner.

 

Jacob is survived by his fiancé, Laura Stanley, daughter, Kaydance Elizabeth Thurman, six brothers Joshua Thurman, San Diego, CA, Justin Glessner, Shelbyville, IN, James Masterson, Shelbyville, IN, Jordan Masterson, Shelbyville, IN, Jonah Masterson, Shelbyville, IN, Elijah Thurman, Shelbyville, IN, one sister Victoria (Daniel) Keller, Hamilton, MS, Grandmother Delisa Kunkel of Franklin, IN, Grandparents Jerry and Leona Glessner, Shelbyville, Grandfather Jack Thurman, Shelbyville, Great Grandmother Norma Pettit, Shelbyville, Grandparents Pam and Tim Hoban, Waldron, and Grandfather James Adams, various Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Grandmother Judith Kunkel, Grandfather Gary Kunkel, Grandmother Carol Adams, and Great grandfather Bob Pettit.

 

Jacob was a car enthusiast, mechanic, and jack of all trades. He also had fun mudding in his Jeep.  Some of his most precious times were spent playing house with his daughter. Jacob was a 2012 graduate of Shelbyville High School. He participated in Wrestling, Football, Track and Basketball as a student athlete. In the 8th grade at Shelbyville Middle School, he was the HHC Wrestling Champion for the 140 pound weight class.

 

Visitation will be Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN.

 

Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Reverend Brandon Sutton officiating.

 

Memorial contributions may be made for a college fund for his daughter in care of the funeral home.

 

Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Thurman.
