When you think of someone who touched everyone’s life, Dorine Wolsiefer comes to mind. Dorine entered eternal life on March 12, 2017 at the age of 83. Her spirit is carried on by her four children, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren , four step grandchildren and her two brothers, Mark and Omer Weintraut. Dorine is preceded in death by her husband John C (Jack) Wolsiefer.

Dorine was born in 1933 in Waldron Indiana. She married Jack shortly after graduating from Waldron High School. She was in banking her entire career; starting as a teller and retiring as an executive vice president and trust officer. She was the first woman on the board of the Farmer’s National Bank, where she spent most of her career.

Dorine graduated from the American Banker’s Trust School in 1973 and the University of Indianapolis in 1978 with a degree in Accounting. She retired from banking in 2000. She continued working in the community after retirement by volunteering and being on several boards; she was a board member on the Shelby County Historical Society, Major Hospital, Red Cross, Library Foundation, Arts Alliance and her favorite organization, the Shelby Senior Services, where she was a SHIP counselor and an AARP tax preparer. Dorine instilled in her children and her grandchildren the importance of volunteering and giving back. Dorine was busier after retirement than when she worked, she was always helping someone or volunteering.

Dorine was a Eucharistic Minister at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, where you always found her on Sunday. She loved quilting, gardening, hunting (she taught all her kids to hunt and at one time was a NRA rifle instructor); she loved volunteering, her wonderful friends who shared their lives with her, but most of all, she loved her grandchildren. They were each very special to her; she’d tell you they were all her favorite. She couldn’t wait until the holidays when the entire gang came home for dinner. It was always so chaotic with 25 people in her small house, but she loved it anyway.

Dorine was an amazing lady, one that we aren’t likely to ever forget.

Dorine’s life will be celebrated Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services 703 S. Harrison St. Shelbyville, IN. The Rosary will be recited at 3:30pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am Friday, March 17, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shelbyville with Father Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shelby Service Services at 1504 S. Harrison St. Shelbyville Indiana in memory of Dorine.

Funeral directors Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for the Wolsiefer family.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Dorine Wolsiefer. I offer my Condolences to the family and friends. Although I did not know her personally, I felt a closeness to her through her Daughter, Pam Wolsiefer-Leak. She truly was a giving, amazing woman, living her life through the service to others.

Dorine was one of the greatest blessings to come into our lives. A good neighbor, and great friend, and one of the most caring people We have had the privilege of knowing. She helped so many people in so many ways and her passing is a loss to the community as well. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family. She will be dearly missed. Rest well, good friend.

I share my condolences with the Wolsifer family. I did not know Dorine but I may know one of her sons, Terry. I believe we attended St. Thomas schools in the early fifties. If so, hello to Terry, I am the girl who skipped class with another girl to go home to get my lunch. I thought we could just slip in unnoticed at Mass and no one would know but you said they are back, they are here. Do you remember me and the incident?

I saw the obituary and decided to take the chance to see if Terry is one of the sons.
