James Elvert "Radar" Raymer, 72 of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Monday, February 06, 2017, at his residence. He was born on October 19, 1944 in Indianapolis, IN. He was the son of the late Elvert Raymer and Mattie (Crowe) Raymer.
He is survived by daughters; Kelly Raymer, Indianapolis,IN. Kimberly ( husband Daryl) Barngrover, Nashville, IN, Fara (husband Eric) Daugherty, Greenfield, , Tara (husband Jason) Swickard, Indianapolis, IN, One Sister: Sue Woods, San Fransico, CA, 10 grandchildren, 7 Great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by sister; Betty Parrish.
He was a US Army veteran. He was a avid Nascar fan and never missed a Indianapolis 500. He was always looking for another adventure either a favorite concert to attend or any outdoors activities. Since he was considered to be a big gambler he always enjoyed his trips to the casinos and Las Vegas otherwise the lottery or online Poker Stars were his choice. He always followed his favorite sports teams which included Colts, Pacers, IU and Cubs. Participating in his grandchildren's activities was his favorite pastime.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN.
Funeral service will be held Friday, February 10, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens, Shelbyville, IN. With graveside military rites conducted by local veterans organizations.
