Carla J. Lowe, 80, of Shelbyville, died Monday, April 6, 2009, at Major Hospital.

Born Dec. 3, 1928, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of James and Thelma Ruth (Headlee) Moore. She married Grover S. Lowe on June 21, 1947, and he preceded her in death on June 29, 2006.

Survivors include sons, Greg (wife, Sue) Lowe of Ft. Wayne and Eric (wife, Jeanne) Lowe of Greenwood; daughter, Karla (Lowe) Theobald of Shelbyville; and grandchildren, Dylan Theobald, Sam Lowe, Anne Lowe, Kevin (wife, Amanda) Lowe, and Ryan (wife, Brittany) Lowe.

She also leaves a cat companion, Sissy.

She also was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jeff Lowe.

Mrs. Lowe had been employed in the Shelbyville High School office for several years and also in the Shelby County Treasurer's office.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Anne's Altar Society.

Mrs. Lowe was a pianist and taught music in her home. She enjoyed cross-stitching and was an avid animal lover.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., with the rosary recited at 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., with the Rev. Chris Craig officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Shelby County, 425 E. Washington St., Suite B, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

To all the Lowe family,

I had the true, sincere pleasure of spending many hours with both your parents at the Walker House. Oh,how I would have loved to see them in their 'past lives'. Ha-Ha!I will never forget them. Best wishes to all your family.
