Donald E. Vierling, 63, of St. Paul died Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at his home.
Born July 2, 1947, in Batesville, he was the son of Anthony and Bernice (Bare) Vierling. He married Mildred Roberts on Jan. 12, 1968, and she survives.
Other survivors include his mother of Shelbyville; sons, Donnie (wife, Lisa) Vierling of Flat Rock, Chris Vierling and John Vierling, both of St. Paul; daughters, Donna (husband, Rick) Daniels of St. Paul, Tina (husband, Phillip) Roell of Shelbyville and Amy (husband, Scott) McFarland of Indianapolis; sisters, Virginia Kellems of Waldron, Barbara Walsman and Terri Taggart, both of Shelbyville, Dixie Voegle of Batesville and Sue Barnhardt of Wisconsin; brothers, Bill Vierling of Tennessee, Jim Vierling and Gary Vierling, both of Shelbyville; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and brothers, Jack Vierling and Richard Vierling.
Mr. Vierling retired as St. Paul Town Marshall, after 25 years of service.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Vierling was a member of Fraternal Order of Police in Decatur County, American Legion, American Rifle Association.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Layne and Father Chris Craig officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery with military rites conducted.
