Ethel Mae Powell, 72, of Marietta died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, in Marietta.

Born July 15, 1938, in Amity, she was the daughter of Adonnis and Frances (Fallis) Harrison. She married Ermon Powell on May 9, 1958, and he survives in Marietta.

Other survivors include sons, Charles Ermon (wife, Lisa) Powell of Shelbyville, Artie Lee (wife, Lorry) Powell of Columbus and Anthony Wayne (wife, Bridgett) Powell of Marietta; daughters, Adonna Mae (husband, Scott) Bradley of Columbus and Vicky Lynn (husband, John) Holmes of Franklin; sister, Kathleen Doyle; brother, Richard Harrison; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Harrison.

Mrs. Powell graduated from Franklin High School in 1957 and was a longtime resident of Marietta.

She was a homemaker, a baby sitter and worked at the Heritage Children's Center for 10 years.

Mrs. Powell was a lifetime member of the Marietta Fire Department Auxiliary and the Needham Christian Church.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stacy Popejoy officiating.

Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.
