Charles L. Armstrong, 61, of Indianapolis, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at his residence.

Born Oct. 17, 1949, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Ezra and Ruth (Medsker) Armstrong. He married Janet Buckley on Sept. 2,1972, and she survives.

Other survivors include daughter, Jennifer Lynn Armstrong of Chicago, Ill.; aunt, Martha Oliviero of Reno Nev.; sister, Margaret (husband, Jim) Armstrong of Shelbyville; brothers, Ralph Armstrong of Greenfield and Kenneth (wife, Brenda) Armstrong of Tennessee; and brothers-in-law, Dan (wife, Mary) Buckley of Avon and Bob (wife, Amy) Buckley of Batesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Mr. Armstrong had been employed by Penske Truck Leasing for 34 years.He Retired in July 2006.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.

Memorial contributions may be made to donor's favorite charity.

Dear Jan,

I am so sorry for your loss!! I can only imagine your sorrow. I remember hearing great stories about Charlie. I feel like I knew him. I hope to see you on Saturday. If not, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
