Karl F. Disser, 88, of Brazil, Ind., died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital in Brazil.
Born Oct. 21, 1924, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Ralph and Mary (Klare) Disser Sr. He married Virginia Kehrt on July 29, 1948, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 25, 2009.
Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Ann (husband, Ronald) Cunningham of Brazil; brothers, Jack Disser and Wilbur Disser, both of Shelbyville, and Paul Disser; grandchildren, Andrea Christy and Aaron Christy; and great-grandchildren, Alexis, LeLe and J. Michael.
He also was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Mr. Disser was part owner of Swinford Texaco filling station in Indianapolis and retired from Metro Indy and Speedway in Danville. He also was a lifetime farmer.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Disser was the Indiana state skeet-shooting champion for several years.
Visitation will be from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. today at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mary Archer officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
