Dorothy Maxine Jenkins, 84, of Shelbyville died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at Waldron Health & Rehab Center.
Born April 8, 1926, in Waldron, she was the daughter of Ora Roscoe and Hazel L. (Watts) Johnson. She married Robert Edward Jenkins on July 13, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1987.
Survivors include her daughter, Teresa (husband, Avery) Smith Jr. of Shelbyville.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; son, John R. Jenkins Jr.; brothers, Howard A. Johnson and George E. Johnson.
Mrs. Jenkins was a seamstress and employed with Plymate's Home Laundry for 10 years. She also had been employed at the Garment Factory.
She was a member of Waldron United Methodist Church and Shelby Senior Services.
Mrs. Jenkins liked to read and work puzzle books.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stacy Popejoy officiating.
Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens.
