Nedra J. Johnson, 89, of Shelbyville died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Ashford Place Health Campus.

Born Dec. 7, 1920, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Russell and Blanche (Ferris) Morrison. She married Edison L. Johnson on April 28, 1938, and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1986.

Survivors include her daughters, Toni (husband, David) Wills of Florida and Tina (husband, Mike) Wells of Fairland; sisters, Anita (husband, Dallas) Nauert of Greenwood, Karen (husband, Dwain) Alexander of Shelbyville, Sarah (husband, Carl) Stoops of St. Paul and Candace Morrison of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Dee Wills, Christine Wills, Michelle Wells, Melanie (husband, Brian) Wahl, Melissa (husband, David) Allen and Bret (wife, Megan) Wells; and eight great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gayle Morrison.

Mrs. Johnson retired from Western Electric Co. in 1976.

She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1937.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Tom Strong and Ron Robinson officiating.

Burial will be in Boggstown Cemetery, Boggstown.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fairland Volunteer Fire Department, Hospice of Shelby County or Pleasant View Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home.

I can still remember playing barbie dolls upstairs at your grandmas when we were little. I am so sorry for your loss please know my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My heart goes out to all of you...Nedra will be missed so much. I have some great memories and fun times with her. It was my great pleasure to be able to assist her with her needs. What a blessing it was to call Nedra a friend.
