Gerri "MiMi" Scudder, 65, of Waldron, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital, Beech Grove.

Born Sept. 22, 1944, in Fayetteville, N.C., she was the daughter of Jeston and Rosa Leigh (Smith) Britt.

Survivors include her daughter, Traci (husband, Brent) Gibbs of Flat Rock; son, Scott (wife, Lori) Scudder of Smithland; sisters, Faye Koonce of Fayetteville, Linda Long of Waldron, Sandi Stewart Southport, N.C., and Donna Hacker of Franklin; brothers, Paul Britt of Shelbyville and Buddy Britt of Waldron; and grandchildren, Kylee Gibbs, Stephen Scudder and McKayla Scudder.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Britt.

Ms. Scudder was employed at Plastic Moldings for several years.

She was an avid Waldron High School sports fan and enjoyed camping, but her family was most important to her.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Andy Lee officiating.

Burial will be in Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery in Shelby County.

Memorial contributions may be made to Benesse Oncology Center, 2455 Intelliplex Drive, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Aunt Gerri, you will be missed so much. You were the matriarch of the Indiana bunch, and everyone knew you would do whatever you could for our family. There are no words to explain what you meant to me, and I will cherish our trip to North Carolina over the 4th of July (2010) more than you could ever know. Hug my dad for me! We will love you always!

I was very sorry to read of Gerri's passing. I was in the hospital and just got out to-day the 31 st at noon. I would have liked to payed my respects.
