Morris Balser, 93, of Shelbyville died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at his home.
Born Sept. 4, 1914, in Tipton County, he was the son of Jesse and Grace (McCreary) Balser. He married Louise Schmitz on April 30, 1948, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 18, 2001.
Survivors include his nephew and caregiver, Pat Collins of Anderson; half brother, Francis Balser; several nieces; and several other nephews.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles Balser and Robert Balser; sister, Sylvia Collins; and half brother, Leonard Balser.
Mr. Balser had been employed at General Motors in Anderson and was a farmer in Middletown.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 38th Infantry.
Mr. Balser was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Campbell officiating.
Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park in Anderson.
