William Howard "Bill" Anderson Sr., 67, of Shelbyville died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at his home.

Born Jan. 15, 1941, in Greenfield, he was the son of James W. and Lucille (Caldwell) Anderson. He married Barbara Chapman on Nov. 10, 1961, and she survives.

Other survivors include his sons, Bill Anderson Jr. of Shelbyville and James Anderson of Plainfield; daughter, Theresa Anderson of Indianapolis; half brother, Kim Anderson of Shelbyville; and grandchildren, Ashley, Robert, Andrew and Veronica.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was a construction heavy-equipment operator.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Mr. Anderson had an interest in standardbred racing horses.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Chris Craig officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, in care of Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.

hi this is jordan from the barn the person that helped mike hollenback during last summer, im so sorry to here that mr. anderson has passed away, he was a great man, i really didnt know him but from the time that i was there in his barn he was a great man to talk to. ill never for get the time that he gave me a chance on a filly that he really wanted to see make the races. i may not of got the horse in the rite time but he never said a word, he told me nice job she looked good, i miss talking to him, listing to the great stories he told me about the horses that he had in the past and how great they were. im so so sorry to here that he had passed away
