Jacob Todd Brokering, 15, of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Born April 26, 1993, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Larry Todd and Kimberly L. (Rubush) Brokering. Survivors include his parents of Shelbyville; his sister, Kay Brokering, Shelbyville; his brother, Nikolas Brokering, Shelbyville; grandparents, Larry and Meridith Brokering and Jodi Bowman, all of Shelbyville, and James and Yvonne Rubush of Indianapolis; aunts, Marlou (husband, Marc) Kirk, and Mimi Law; uncles, Rodney (wife, Tonya) Brokering, Ryan (wife, Angel) Brokering, and Thomas Bowman; special great-great-aunt Dorothy Redden; and several other great-great-aunts and uncles; several cousins, several great aunts and uncles, and several second and third generation cousins, who all loved him very much. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ron Bowman. Jacob was touched by many special teachers and caregivers. He gave much more than he received and leaves a big void in many lives. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Wessic officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jacob Todd Brokering Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of Blue River Community Foundation, 54 W.
