Dennis Everett Tucker, Jr., 78, of Shelbyville died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Born Aug. 8, 1929, in Anderson, he was the son of Dennis E. Tucker, Sr. and Carrie R. Carpenter-Tucker. He Married Pauline Smith on Dec. 31, 1949, and she survives.
Other survivors include his sons, Douglas Tucker, Danny Tucker and Darrell Tucker all of Shelbyville, and Dennis Tucker of Virginia; daughters, Theresa Hadden and Connie James both of Shelbyville; sisters, Betty Jones and Margaret Biddlecomb, both of Shelbyville; brother Donald Tucker of Shelbyville; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Frye.
Mr. Tucker retired from Arco Electric in 1984.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Tucker was a member of Faith Trinity Pentecostal Church.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Perry Fouts officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, with military rites conducted by local veterans organizations.
