Thomas E. Keel, 62, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008 at Major Hospital ER.

Born Oct. 4, 1946, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Richard D. and Eva (Randolf) Keel.

Survivors include his mother of Shelbyville; sons, Charles Keel of Tennessee and Jimmy Keel of Indianapolis; daughter, Heidi Smith of Shelbyville; sister, Marty (husband, Max) Branson of Shelbyville; brother, Kenneth "Bud" (wife, Jean)Keel of Shelbyville; three granddaughters; three stepgrandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Keel was a bartender at Blue River Inn for 21 years.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Murphy Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Robert Prather and Rev. Edwin Mohr officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, with military rites conducted by local veteran organizations.

I am not able to attend the visitation or the funeral because of work but send my deepest condolences to Martha Branson, Tonya and Bino and to Angie Hendrickson and her parents. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the Keel families.

I love you grandpa you were the best man ever alive. We will all miss you for as long as we live. Also we will all be together one last time. In the end we will miss you.
