Michael Covert, 58, of Shelbyville died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at Major Hospital.
Born May 10, 1950, in Greencastle, he was the son of Donald Duane and Rose Marie (Feld) Covert. He married Randa Yealey, and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughters, Deanna (husband, Todd) Hellums of Brazil, Nichole (husband, Donnie) Coffey and Melissa Cook, both of Shelbyville; sons, Michael D. Covert of Brazil and Nathan (wife, Marty) McClure of Flat Rock; brother, Douglas (wife, Deborah) Covert of Roachdale; sister, Leda Hood of Felicity, Ohio; grandchildren, Adrianna, Ashlynn, Jordan, Brayden, Tyler, Regan, Colton, Michael, Marcus, Timmy Lee III, Taylor, Brady, Blake; nine nieces and nephews; and 11 great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Neal McClure.
Mr. Covert had been employed at Deflecto Inc. in Indianapolis until recently.
He was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Covert graduated from Greencastle High School in 1968.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Edwin Mohr officiating.
Burial will be in Van Pelt Cemetery in Waldron, with military rites conducted by local veterans organizations.
