Mary Owens, 84, formerly of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, Dec. 16 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born June 18, 1924, in Hancock County, she was the daughter of Charles A. and Flora B. (Ramsey) Richey. She married William E. Owens on June 27, 1942 and he survives.

Other survivors include her daughters, Judy (husband, Jerry) Iverson of Gulf, IL, Dottie Strawn of Westfield and Linda (husband, Tom) Skelly of Henderson, N.V.; sisters, Betty Livingston of Shelbyville and Maxine (husband, Kenneth) Roll of Cincinnati, OH; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ralph Richey.

Mrs. Owens had been employed at Overhead Door for 10 years retiring in 1984.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Love officiation.

Private burial services will be in Second Mount Baptist Cemetery in Franklin.

Judy, Dottie and Linda,

Our sincere regrets at the loss of your Mom. Although I didn't know her personally, her two younger daughters were either a classmate (Dottie) or worked for my Dad(Linda) at the Rec in the 1060's Her picture explains where her daughters got their good genes. My Dad (age 101) also sends along his condolences.
