Mary A. Brown, 69, of Shelbyville died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at Waldron Health & Rehab Center in Waldron.
Born Oct. 3, 1939, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Mark and Mildred (Stubbs) Stanton. She married James E. Brown on May 24, 1957, and he survives.
Other survivors include her son, Thomas "Tab" (wife, Kimberly) Brown of Manilla; daughter, Debra Elizabeth (husband, Dwight) Bolin of Shelbyville; brothers, Donald (wife, Ruth) Stanton of Flat Rock and Danny Stanton of Mount Auburn; sisters, Elinor (husband, Harold) Thopy of Shelbyville, Rebecca Parks of Michigan and Jane Ann Roberts of Edinburgh; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Brown was a homemaker.
She enjoyed square dancing.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Buffy Powers officiating.
Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery in Shelby County.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Shelby County, 425 E. Washington St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Your are the greatest Grandma ever and I love you Thanks for everything I wouldn't be half the man that I am today with your love and guidance that you gave to me throughout my life Grandma I will greatly miss you and never forget you

Mary was the best Aunt that you could have. She was fun to be around. Mary was one of my favorite Aunts (her and Aunt Janet).She will sadly be missed but will always be remembered by all. Wish I could be there.

i am going to miss mary very much i am very glad i met her and i will never forget her she was the most strongest lady i have ever met i know she is in such a much better place now . I must say she was one of my most favorite patients and i am going to miss her very much

i was so greatly honered to have met mary she was such a strong lady and she was like a grandmother to me i had met her through my job i work for life ambulance and i was her wheelchair driver and the first time i met her and jim i instantly knew i was going to get close to her because she was such a sweet heart . I know she is in a better place now and the pain is gone away but i must say i am going to miss walking into waldron nursing home and going to see her everytime i step foot in that buliding that was the first thing i did was go say hi to my mary i am going to miss her but i know she is in a better place .
i feel so honered to have met jim and deb as well and my heart goes out to them and the whole family
i will never forget you mary
