Mary A. Brown, 69, of Shelbyville died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at Waldron Health & Rehab Center in Waldron. Born Oct. 3, 1939, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Mark and Mildred (Stubbs) Stanton. She married James E. Brown on May 24, 1957, and he survives. Other survivors include her son, Thomas "Tab" (wife, Kimberly) Brown of Manilla; daughter, Debra Elizabeth (husband, Dwight) Bolin of Shelbyville; brothers, Donald (wife, Ruth) Stanton of Flat Rock and Danny Stanton of Mount Auburn; sisters, Elinor (husband, Harold) Thopy of Shelbyville, Rebecca Parks of Michigan and Jane Ann Roberts of Edinburgh; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker. She enjoyed square dancing. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Buffy Powers officiating.
