Danny Myrl Ray, 66, of Franklin died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital and Health Centers in Beech Grove.

Born May 30, 1942, in Greensburg, he was the son of Maurice and Pearl (Thrasher) Ray.

Survivors include his son, Daniel Ray of Manilla; daughters, Carrie Ray (boyfriend, James White) of Shelbyville and Vicki (husband, John) May of Franklin; brothers, Bob (wife, Dollie) Ray of Owensville, Ky., and his twin, David (wife, Loretta) Ray of New Palestine; sisters, Marilee Menkedick of Greensburg and Donna Brendon of Columbus; grandchildren, Josh White, Katlyn May, Johnathon May, Ashley May, Taylor-Ann May and a grandchild to be born in April; and niece, Mary Brendon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Ray was a former Shelbyville resident.

He had been employed at Wellman Thermal Systems and later retired from PK USA.

Mr. Ray was a U.S. Army veteran.

A gathering of friends will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Chaperral Cafe, 14 E. Broadway St.

Arrangements were handled by Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.
