Emma Haehl, 71, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Brandywine Nursing & Rehab Center in Greenfield.
Born Aug. 8, 1936, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Fred and Ethel (Keppel) Shugert. She married Carl F. Haehl on Oct. 16, 1955, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 2001.
Survivors include sons, Timothy Haehl and Michael (wife, Christina) Haehl, both of Shelbyville; daughter, Tammy (husband, David) Haehl-Colwell of Greenfield; brother, Ora Sonny Shugert of Waldron; sister-in-law, Mariam Shugert of Arizona; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Edward Haehl; and a brother, Bob Shugert.
Mrs. Haehl had been employed by L.J. Garment factory and was a route carrier for The Shelbyville News.
She enjoyed her horses and is survived by her favorite dog, Yogie. Her favorite pastime was working on ceramics, and she was a big fan of Chuck Norris.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robb Barlow officiating.
