Daniel Yarber, 68, of Shelbyville died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital and Health Centers in Indianapolis.

Born Jan. 28, 1940, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Ira Thomas and Florence (Sweet) Yarber. He married Doris Faye Guffey, and she preceded him in death on April 7, 2007.

Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl Huckabey of Columbus; sons, James Thomas Yarber of Shelbyville and Edie Yarber of Columbus; stepdaughters, Frances Noel and Rhonda Owens, both of Shelbyville, and Barbara Gray of Kentucky; stepsons, Roger Johnson and Ronnie Johnson both of Shelbyville; 26 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and stepdaughter, Jeannette McNicholas.

Mr. Yarber retired from Great States in 2000.

Hea was a past member of the Eagles Lodge.

Mer. Yarber's hobbies included bowling and fishing.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jason Sturgill officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

My Mom's only brother, he was such a comedian, really hilarious when he got going! He was an excellent schetch artist and the only person I met who could climb to the very tip-top of a large tree.
Uncle Danny once borrowed my Mom's car, had an accident and (to my knowledge) never drove again!
My memory of Danny-Boone will always be full of pride, deep respect and admiration...

my deepest sympathy to Danny's family i have known Danny for over 30 years haven;t seen him since i moved to fla. in 1983 he was a great person
