Martha Vernalee Wilson, 71, of Fairland, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at her home.

Born July 11, 1938, in Ono, Ky., she was the daughter of Kermit A. and Debbie S. (Polston) Hughes. She married Keith Eldridge Wilson on Jan. 3, 1956, and he survives.

Other survivors include her son, Jimmy Dean Wilson of Fairland; sisters, June Passmore of Indianapolis and Judy Waggoner of Shelbyville; grandson, Brandon Keith Wilson of Fairland; seven nephews; and three nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joyce Stephens; and brother, Ruel Hughes.

Mrs. Wilson had been employed with Maytag for 11 years, retiring in 1987.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church, 4666 N. Michigan Road, Fairland.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Gene Spencer officiating.

Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 4666 N. Michigan Road, Fairland, IN 46126.

DEARLY. SHE WILL BE MISSED GREATLY. TO HER FAMILY YOU HAVE MY DEEPIEST SYMPATHY.

She will be missed, but it is our loss and God's gain, I have no doubt He welcomed her with open arms. She is well and happy in her mansion.
