Betty C. Walton Moore, 82, of Shelbyville died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at the home of her daughter.
Born July 12, 1926, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of George and Gladys (Hill) Armstrong. She married Arthur "Bud" Walton in 1950, and he preceded her in death in 1979. She married Edghill Moore in 1992, and he survives.
Other survivors include her daughter, Brenda (husband, Terry) Ogden of Shelbyville; son, Michael David Walton of Shelbyville; sister, Alice Money of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Danielle (husband, Ralph) Worland and Brianne (husband, Jason) Garrett; and great-grandchildren, Jaydan Garrett and Alexis Worland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George Armstrong Jr. and Gene Armstrong; and son-in-law, James Priddy.
Mrs. Walton Moore had been employed at Shelby County Family and Children Services from 1974 until retiring. She was the agency's first food-stamp clerk.
Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she enjoyed bowling as her pastime.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Chris Craig officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
