Lelah Ruth Feuerstine, 88, of Shelby County died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Morristown Manor in Morristown.

Born July 17, 1920, in Columbus, she was the daughter of Charles and Lydie (Stevens) Ellsworth. She married Alfred Feuerstine on March 25, 1939, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1996.

Survivors include her daughters, Gloria Jane (husband, Bob) Roan and Lela Leona (husband, Jerry) Glessner, both of Shelbyville; sons, Jerry Alfred (wife, Kim) Feuerstine of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Edward Martin (wife, Kay) Feuerstine of Morristown; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Feuerstine was a homemaker and lived in Shelby County most of her life.

She was a member of Town & Country Christian Church.

Mrs. Feuerstine enjoyed reading.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.; and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Town & Country Christian Church, 2133 S. Tucker Road.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Rod Beheler officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

So very sorry to hear about our loss of Ruth. I was able to spend some time with Ruth and Ed at Morristown Manor for two years as a volunteer. She was an encouragement to other residents and was a lovely person to know.

Ruth was such a beautiful spirit. She touched the lives of more people then she would ever know. Her beautiful smile will be truly missed. To her family, thanks for sharing her with us.
