Thomas Roger Hood, 64, of Shelbyville died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008 at his home.

Born March 1, 1944, in Racine, Ohio, he was the son of Thomas G. and Fannie (Johnson) Hood.

Survivors include his son, Thomas R. Hood Jr. of Greenfield; daughter, Cheryl Hood of Shelbyville; brothers, Loral Gibson, James Hood and Lester Hood, all of Mansfield, Ohio; and grandson, Thomas R. Hood III.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Garnet Gibson.

Mr. Hood had been a coal miner in West Virginia. He later was employed at Randall Division of Textron in Morristown.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Visitation will from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m at the funeral home.

Sorry for your loss. In Tom, I have lost a good pal. Sat and talked with him at Eagles and Moose and at his home. We always shared a good laugh. He will be missed.

Though I haven't seen him in many years and lost contact with him, I will miss my Uncle Tom.
