Henry J. Hubbard, 50, of Shelbyville died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at his home.

Born July 29, 1959, in Shelbyville, he was the son of William and Queenie Ester (Tarkington) Hubbard.

Survivors include his nephews, Michael R. Hamilton, Kelsey Hamilton and Julian Hamilton, all of Indianapolis; niece, Angela Bowman of Indianapolis; brother-in-law, James Bowman of Indianapolis; great-nephews, Stanley Knight and Michael R. Hamilton III, both of Indianapolis; best friends, Rusty and Patty Pettit and Mark Bassett, all of Shelbyville; and friends, the Ellison family of Detroit, Mich., and the Means family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Hubbard was employed by Pettit Auto Parts of Shelbyville at the age of 13 and continued to work for them during his lifetime.

He was an avid NASCAR fan.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Ronnie Caine officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Henry was a good person who brightened many peoples lives. He will be missed but not forgotten.

It's funny the things that stand out from your memories...I remember when Henry sang "This Little Light of Mine" in a 6th grade program. Henry - may your "Little light continue to shine - in a much brighter place!"
