Ida Parrott, 74, of Shelbyville died Friday, March 27, 2009, at her home.
Born Feb. 8, 1935, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Walter and Nellie (Bausback) Sosbe. She married Cecil Parrott, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Jody Parrott of Shelbyville; sister, Elinore Imel of Fountaintown; brother, Charles Sosbe of Bossier City, La.; grandson, Kyle Parrott; and dog companion, Tiny.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Parrott was a homemaker and member of Beacon Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She was a pelican collector.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

To Jody and his family ,Charles and Eleanor and their families Hi kids, Janet called me and told me about Ida I am so sorry to hear this.My daughter Michele will pay my respects for me since I live now in Rome,NY and can't be there I think of Ida as another sister and I remember the good times we had as kids when I came to visit with Aunt Nell and Uncle Pete may God keep her in his care and may he also bring peace to her family
